Nicola Barbagli Oboe

Nicola Barbagli studied modern oboe in Italy at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and the Scala Theatre Academy. He then graduated from Geneva Haute Ecole de Musique with Maurice Bourgue. 

He moved to UK to play in the Southbank Sinfonia and after that decided to study historical oboes with  Katharina Sprekelsen  at the Royal Academy of Music, wherehe was awarded the "San Martino Scholarship" and "Nancy Nuttal Early Music Prize". Nicola has participated in the "Ann and Peter Law Experience Scheme" with the Orchestra of Age of Enlightment and he has been invited to play with the orchestra. He has also performed with the Gabrieli Consort, Le Cercle de L'Harmonie, International Baroque Players, Classical Opera Company, Ensamble Zefiro, Oxford Baroque, Cappella Cracoviensis, Geneva Camerata, Kohn Foundation RAM Bach cantata series among others. When Nicola is not at 415 or 430hz he can usually be found baking cakes and playing accordion with his folk band.
